Biog & CV

I have been 'cutting it' as a creative Avid/ Premiere/FCP editor for over 20 years and am accomplished at editing a wide variety of styles and genres.

I started editing in Beijing, working 24 hr shifts on a MTV style movie show for a Chinese/American production company. We used Photoshop, After Effects and Avid, in Mandarin, in which I'm semi-fluent.

I moved back to the UK in 1999 as a freelance Avid editor in Bristol working on presenter-led docs such as 'Ray Mears Extreme Survival,' on Ob. docs like 'Everyone's a Winner,' and  Arts documentaries e.g, BBC4's 'Painting the Weather.'

Bristol is on the map for the BBC's Natural History Unit with whom I've made blue chip landmark series 'Wonders of the Monsoon,' and 'North America,' for Discovery. I've also enjoyed cutting character based docs like ' A Monkey's Tale,'  issue-based films about gorilla conservation and tiger shark attacks and  worked on live events such as Springwatch and Autumnwatch for five consecutive years.Plus magazine format: ‘Nature’s Weirdest Events with Chris Packham.’

Across the Severn in Cardiff I've cut drama such as cinema released, 'The Devil's Vice,''A Bit of Tom Jones' and 'Kiddo.' Also multi-cam concerts and archive based music docs eg. 'The Motown Invasion.''Janet Jackson- Taking Control' & 'Nana Mouskouri- The White Rose of Athens.'

I have endeavoured to work on as large a variety of programmes as possible and been lucky to work in exotic locations as diverse as Hawaii, the Galapagos, Patagonia, Alice Springs and the Masai Mara in Kenya where I cut 'Big Cat Diary series 6.' Which was nice.

Meboid Ltd was created in 2005 as both an editing company and a studio to produce unique artistic short films, music videos, VJ events, graphics and web design. I designed, directed, cut & graded 3 mind blowing videos for the Malachai  'Beyond Ugly' album in 2012. Most recently made a set of cubist videos and projections for Ghostnotes,( Cognitive Shift records)

In 2019 started working with Silverback Films & Silverback Studios to create multi award winning environmental films. Starting with the Halo project around Netflix's 'Our Planet' series which spawned: 'Our Plant-Our Business' & 'Our Planet: Too Big to Fail'.

'Breaking Boundaries- The Science of Our Planet' was chosen by US president Joe Biden to be shown to all world leaders at the Virtual UN Climate Summit in 2021, which was also nice.

Built films for HRH Prince William's Earth shot Prize.
